Totally me wear

I just watched a whole season of Project Runway, in which Christian Siriano won. On the show he was very funny, his sense of style was bold, and his favorite word was "Fierce!". Watching the show was fun for me because even though I'm not the most creative individual, I like watching the designs go down the runway and debating about which ones I'd wear. Then that gets me thinking about my own sense of style. Style is a form of expression, of taking what's inside and wearing it on the outside. When I think about my style, I'm not as influenced as other girls my age. I don't read all the fashion magazines, go on any websites or blogs, nor am I always on top of the latest trend. What I do is see what other girls are wearing, tone it down to my level, then when I go shopping I translate it into what I feel and look good in. I would describe my style as simple, yet cute. Black is my go to color when it comes to picking clothes, because I wholeheartedly believe that black goes with everything. Color and comfort are the basic makeup of my closet. Also, jeans are very important to me because of my body shape. I'm short, but I have a whole lot going on, if you catch my drift. I love my curves, and I tend to pick outfits that showcase my butt (my favorite part of my body), and gives my upper body a nice look. That being said, there are times when I find that one piece that makes me feel powerful and sexy, usually a pair of shoes.

Here's one that I find completely drool-worthy.

 Match Platform Pumps, Jessica Simpson

Here's a nude pump that's simple, which I love, but with the right outfit it'll look so gorgeous.

McGray Pumps, Call It Spring

Speaking of fashion, there are some ideas that can be seen as daring, or just plain dumb. For example..

This made me laugh so hard. Notice how the cops apprehended the wrong person; goes to show the way you look does matter.

Not fit to teach

I want to talk about something that aggravates me so much: parents. To be exact, their behavior when they're trying to teach you something and you don't get it on the first, second, or third try. Like when you're cooking with your Mom and you burn the food; or building with your Dad and you make a mistake with the nail gun. Those are some mistakes that most parents can forgive you for. My parents are another story, especially my Dad. The most recent example was when I was trying to practice driving today. Apparently he used to be a Chemistry teacher, but I don't think he has any of the qualities that a teacher needs. They have to be patient, gentle, and let the student make their own mistakes that they can learn from. Not so with my Dad. We went driving and he was yelling at me whenever I made a wrong move. Who yells at someone when they're making an effort to learn a new skill? Obviously I won't feel comfortable and I'll make more mistakes than usual. He wants me to get it perfect every time, like him, but doesn't understand that with 10+ years of experience behind him he obviously has the upper hand. To me driving is a huge step towards that feeling of independence I'm after, but with the way things are going I feel like that goal just keeps getting father and farther away. Not to brag, but I believe I'm a good driver; not great but good. I just need someone to take that extra time with me and make sure I can go on the road as a safe and confident driver. Where for art thou, perfect teacher?

Now you gone, Nair

If you didn't already know, the title is from a Nicki Minaj song. And yes I am going to be talking about shaving.

If you go on Twitter, you're bound to see the trending topics change at least three times a day;  to the ones that stay longer, I tip my hat to you. Some of them are informative, like so and so came out with a new song, and some are plain old stupid (can you say Justin Bieber related topics?). And then there are those that land smack dab in the middle. In this case, NoShavember. One, I admit the name is pretty creative. But more importantly I think that the whole idea is stupid. You're telling me for one whole month you're not going to shave, just because they made up a name for it and it's a "thing"? Especially to those werewolves that need it, at the end of the month you'll be begging for a razor. Next you have to ask why they're doing it. A dude on Twitter asked if he was a punk for participating in NoShavember, but shaving anyway because his girl asked them too. I repeat, I think the idea is dumb, but if you say you're gonna do it, you can't back out after only a little while. So albeit being a girl, I agreed that yes, he was a punk. Technically us girls participate as well. During these cold months, our legs go hairy as f*ck. But here's the difference: guys don't notice, girls do. Mind blower, isn't' it. I guess what I'm trying to say after all this babble is that guys, if you want to look clean and groomed, the razor should be one of your best friends. Ask the Gillette actors.

So yeah...

Let's see. Basically I always wanted to start a diary or a journal, like the ones they have you do in elementary, but not much happens every single day for me to write about. Blogging is great because I can post anytime I want, the typing is easier, and it's on the internet, so no chance of losing it. I know I'm not going to post a lot but I want the option to be there, for whenever I need to vent and can't find an ear or whatever. So that's my reasoning.

Anyway a little interesting tidbit from today, well technically yesterday. Me and my family went to my uncle's house for his birthday, where we chilled and I played with my little cousin (interesting what scares kids these days) then we stopped at Mcdonalds. Got our order and blah blah blah. As we were leaving I noticed the drive thru guy was a senior from my shop in high school. Not that I was knowledgeable about all the gossip going around, but I remembered they said his girlfriend had a baby and he was trying to support them. I give him props for trying to be a good dad, but moments like these are when I have to admit my parents are right. Basically in this country, and in this weak economy right now, you really can't do much without an education. It's hard, boring, and it sucks, but it pays off for when you won't have to deal with rude people for minimum wage. Motivates you to do your best and just keep moving forward to reach the light at the end of the very long tunnel.
